Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

Happy July 1st :)

It's been a crazy, busy day :) 8 tea orders to get out and more to get ready for festival bags. Soap orders to get out and more to make. I've already run out of glycerin and need to order more. It's a very good thing tho :)

I also have several Juju dolls to make but I have temporarily run out of room to work. I'll have to take a few days and regroup and figure out how to make more room. It seems impossible but I do believe in magic.

It's 8pm and I'm just now getting supper, we usually eat much earlier. I'm going to take a break and watch Mrs. Brown while I eat.

Hen hasn't laid an egg in 3 days. She is about 4 years old tho so we're lucky she lays at all and she does still lay every day most of the time. I'll be so glad when the chicks start laying and if Ruby is a Banty she may start laying any day now. She looks old enough to.

Busy is busy, but this sounds like GOOD busy! I know you're having fun, even with the work. You're reminding me to look into making glycerine soaps. I love making the lye soap, but I ran out, and it's such a pain to get. Four days and I'm headed back to the mountains!
