Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

What a very nice morning :)

Yesterday was a wonderful day with a little bit of strange. We went early yesterday morning to the market, got what we needed and some gas in the Crow truck and headed home. Almost home we saw some yard sales, 5 in a row, so we stopped. I got some little jelly jars and a fine new (antique) rolling pen. Nik got a Star Wars figure and I got the cabin guy a pair of work boots.

We mucked around most of the day, got a few chores done and then napped. In the late evening we drove to Nixa Walmart to get cat and dog food, it's about 17 miles but we went to enjoy the fine drive.

On the way home, right before we turned on our little road, we both saw a bright yellow shooting star :) It's always wonderful to see one but even more so when someone else sees it with you at the same time. There's some powerful magic in that.

Today the plan is to work some more on the henhouse. we almost have enough finished to be able to open the pen to it.

We've been getting eggs each day now, sometimes 1 sometimes 3 or 4. I'm sure our neighbors will be almost as glad as we are to have them regularly again.

Tomorrow I should be able to have the extra part of the phone account added back on so we can have unlimited again. I hope this week of .10 a minute hasn't added up to much. I've tried to be very careful so we'll see.

I've had a couple of larger sales this weekend as well which is a wonderful thing !

Well, I hope we all have a most excellent day :)

Congrats on the larger sales!! I saw a shooting star a few weeks ago, my first ever, believe it or not. It was so cool and ethereal - I actually thought I was seeing things or dreaming.
