The morning's air is peaceful, filled with cricket song and the smell of freshly brewed coffee. A gently cool breeze drifts in the open window, carrying with it the promise of crunchy brown leaves and big fat walnuts. Acorns decorate our yard like nutmeg colored jewels and chubby squirrels fill their hordes to their content. How is it that I find myself so incredibly blessed. If I could give a quarter of the goodness I receive each day I would feel like I had done a great deal.
I've made up the menu for the next few weeks ...
Baked corn dogs with baked beans
Beanie weenies with cornbread
Polish sausage with rice and green beans
Polish Sausage with mashed potatoes and corn
Ham n Egg burritos with cheese and oven fried potatoes x 2
Chicken breasts in Thyme with mashed potatoes, cranberries and green beans
Hamburger gravy on biscuits with oven fried potatoes
Chicken fajitas on tortillas with spanish rice, corn and cheese
Burgers with Baked potatoes and corn
Beef in herbed pasta with green beans
Beef and bean burritos with cheese x 2
Chicken pot pie with left over chicken and veggies

Yesterday we had the chicken fajitas.
For desserts (which we generally eat alone as a snack) I'll be making carrot cake, lemon cake and chocolate cake. I never frost them, with some fresh fruit and sometimes sprinkled with a little powdered sugar. Our fruit for the next two weeks are apples.
I still haven't gotten any walnuts but I'll try much harder this week before they're all gone.
I have a long list of things to try and get done today ... going thru some canning jars so I can get the right lids, work more on the henhouse, fix the gutter cover which the cat creatures have trampled down, finish filling a large tea order, stack some more wood and try to find someone home down the road so we can ask to pick some walnuts.
I rarely remember to write it down but I did happen to have a notebook handy when I noticed it was 4:44 last Sunday, and then yesterday I looked up from reading and it was 3:33, a little later I asked Nik for the time and it was 4:44. The last time I looked at the clock before bed last night it was 11:11

Autumn is a wonderful time of the year. I love the sweet smells that come up from the earth when the leaves fall.
That's an awfully delicious looking menu!! I'm enjoying the last day of the year too - I love it when the weather cooperates in marking the end of a month. It's crisping up here too. Sounds like you have an interesting case on synchronicity going on with the clock thing!
Reading your post leaves me with a sense of peace.
