The last thing I saw last night before bed was 11:11
It's 4am and very chilly outside but not nearly as cold as it has been. A lovely hot cup of coffee in my Blue Cat mug and warm shawl on my shoulders is just the thing to wake up with.
I had an odd dream last night, the second one of the same. The first was a few days ago. In both dreams I am unhappy with a painting I'm working on and can't get it the way I want it. A woman appears and says "paint what you're known for". I stand looking at her trying to figure out what she means and then the dream changes to other things, different both times.
Aside from strangeness, I'm not sure that I'm know for anything.
Yesterday we got the Iris bed mulched and a large area cleaned up. Some more firewood to the porch and some kindling gathered. The tiller started and everything checked on it for today. A little sewing done and Emma watched.
Todays plan is to get the vegetable garden tilled down and covered in Oak mulch for the winter. We usually rake but this year we're able just to blow the leaves on. I add whole leaves and till them into the soil then cover with leaves for the winter.
Todays menu is .... Strawberry preserves on fresh bread with milk for breakfast. Chicken salad with greens on pitas and raisins on the side with iced tea. Vegetarian spaghetti with garlic bread and salad for supper. Vanilla cake with walnuts and hot tea for dessert.
Merry Day before Samhain and may tomorrow be a blessed and gentle day no matter how you celebrate it, or even if you celebrate it :)

My eldest wrote a long blog entry recently about the celebration of "secular" Halloween and Christmas (you know, the ones in which we eat way too many sweets, dress up in costumes, give gifts, spent way too much $$... the American holidays! LOL), and of her private, very personal observance of Samhain and Yule...
I am feeling very much the turning of the tide... of Winters Finding and the coming time of the Norns. It is good to sit by the fire with a cup of coffee in a favorite mug, wrapped in a shawl.
