Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

Star Date 10.29.08

It's been an odd couple of days. Nothing bad at all, in fact some very wonderful things. But odd just the same.

Yesterday evening a guy brought me 12 bottles of wine and 1 bottle of champaign. He was helping his boss clean out and the boss gave them away. I don't drink much at all, a bottle of wine often lasts a month and sometimes more. So this should last me a year :) Some of my favorites as well, simple fruit wines. I may be easy and cheap but I'm also strange and amazing.

Last night I was dreaming along and came to a part that is a recurring dream, or shows up often in other dreams. At that point (in the dream) I realized that my life was actually kind of an illusion. That it was actually just a video game that I kept playing through and every time I finished it I would just have to start over. So, even tho I thought I knew all the steps to take could play thru quickly, it dawned on me that I should live more slowly and I would enjoy it much more and find new things and experiences that I never had or found before.

We've spent the last few days on leaves, raking, blowing, vacuuming. We have tons and are so very blessed to have so much free, organic, all natural mulch/fertilizer/compost :)

Not to mention all the other benefits Oaklings offer ! They give us fine hard wood when they drop what they no longer need, to use in fires for warmth and cooking or even making useful, magical and wonderful things. Acorns to use as food, for us and the forest folk. Bark used for medicinals, jujus, kindling and more. The Trees themselves protect us from harsh weather, anchor the earth and shelter us when it rains.

We have been blessed with so many things and the Oaks are kings and queens among them.

It's 4:44

We're having chili dogs for supper. Turkey dogs on buns with chili, onions and cheese, Spicy oven fried potatoes and iced tea. Later some chocolate cake and hot tea.

I have the Masterpiece Theater Version of Emma to watch this evening and some sewing to get done.

I also need to run out and bring the clothes in from the line before the dew rises.

Yesterday evening was our first fire of the season. I smoked us a bit *o* but smelled so good and felt wonderful. Today was up in the 60's again and we worked outside in shortsleeves. I love the changes in weather and I love every season. But indeed, this is my favorite :)

Blessed evening all !

What a great dream message. I enjoyed your haunting stories as well. I'm not a stranger to these things although I'm sure I've not experienced such profound things.

I see the master numbers a lot myself. Have for a number of years. I always think it's a message from my ancestors or guides, maybe just a hello.
