Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

The wind ! It's amazing. More today then yesterday but yesterday was quite windy as well. This kind of wind used to be fairly rare, like ice storms. Now, like ice storms, it happens often. I so love windy days tho. The sound of the wind blocks out everything else and yet, there's so much to be heard.

I've been trying to find out how to start a local UU church. Apparently not an easy task at all.

PlayfullySmitten purchased several bags of Yin & Yang teas to add to her very cool Bliss Bags http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6857215 What an excellent idea !

Tomorrow I'm meet a woman from Springfield who will be trading plant starts for duck eggs! I think that's a very good thing. Tomorrow is Oregano :)

I've sold the last of the hens we decided to sell. That leaves us with only 10 now, plus decrepit old Hen herself :) For now we have ... 2- Barred Rocks, 2- RIR's, 2- Buff Orps and 4- Ameracuanas. That will make it much easier to finish the larger hen house this summer and rebuild a chick pen for 8 more chicks eventually. I would like to get 2 each Black (true Jersey) Giants, White Giants, Delawares and Silver laced Wyandotes. But I may just barrow a rooster like we used to do and have whatever chicklets come out :)

I've been seeing the numbers daily again. I've been asked several times about them. The thing is, I simply don't know. I do know that they mean something and I do feel that they are important but other feelings about them are very vague and distant.

I was recently told that some Christians have also taken note of the numbers and believe them to be a sign of what they call The End Times. While I personally don't believe the end times as they do I can certainly see why they would connect the numbers with it.

The numbers, in order, that I have seen since I last posted ...
5:55
11:11
1:11
11:11
12:12

11:11 - today

I've found a most wonderful antique wash basin for sale. Only missing one towel bar and only 50.00 . Eventually I would like to get one, move the bathroom door to open differently and install is where the door opens now, beside the bathroom sink (which needs to be replaced). I would, and actually intend to, use it. It often takes me quite a while to get things done but I do get there eventually :)

The seedlings are coming right along. Not as many have sprouted as I had hoped but they are starting to sprout and that's what matters. Oddly, one of the new sage seedlings is about 3 times larger then the others and all were planted at the same day.

I hope everyone has a rich and wonderful day !
