Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

Spring is budding :)

Hens at the edge of the forest.
Little greens popping up here and there.
~*~
Daylilies by the walk,
soon hummingbirds will be drinking here.

~*~

Fowering Almond buds.
The flowers are very short lived but well worth it.

~*~
The large daylily patch,
not just pretty but very tasty too :)

~*~
Nik, lazing in one of the hammocks,
just like every kid should get to do :)

Isn't it wonderful? My Forsythia is budding and the spring bulbs are starting o poke their little heads through the dirt. Life renewed. Happy St. Patty's Day to you and Nik.

Spring growth is popping up here, too, and it is such a joy to see life again.

Daylilies are among my favorite flowers, but I never tried eating them. I'll have to look into that. And you're right - every kid deserves a hammock. I'll be getting one myself ASAP.

Looks like spring has certainly arrived where you are. We still have snow on the ground but I don't think spring is far off. Love the picture of the chickens in the woods. Reminds me of what it will be like here soon.
