Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

Hercules :)

This is Hercules, he's the newest (and possibly the sweetest) member of the Burrow family. He's 3 months old, half Great Pyrenees and Half Newfoundland, out of working parents and from very kind humans.

I knew we would eventually need someone to be goat guardian and companion, and I had been looking around and doing some research to see what kind of person would work best for our situation. I had decided that if I had my way, I would choose a Pyr/Newfy mix. The balance of both seem to fit best for us. Kind above all else, loyal, brave and courageous.

Then I saw an add on freecycle "male Newfoundland and Great Pyrenees mix puppy". 70 miles and a torrential downpour later, we have Herc safe at home and we love him very much :)

Nice looking pooch. I would hate to have to comb that fur.
