Baker's Creek information

So many people have asked about it that it's getting a blog post  :)

Baker's Creek ( http://rareseeds.com/ ) is located just north of Mansfield Mo. I'll add directions below. They are several things but the main one is that they sell Only Non-GMO Seeds, Only Open Pollinated and most are Heritage.

They have a little Pioneer Town set up and have Heritage Days every 1st Sunday of the month from March to November, except May. These days are Free and include local vendors selling their homemade, homegrown, handcrafted goods. They also have live music and comedy, a working blacksmith, bakery, restaurant that works on donation, apothecary, the wonderful seed store and very nice bathrooms.

Last year there were vendors selling Hemp things, fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, jams and jellies, roasted peppers, cactus, herbs and herbals (not just me), period clothing, soap, plants of all kinds, hand carved wooden tools, kettle corn, freshly milled flour grain ... there were herbalists, spinners, carvers, organic growers,

In May they have a special 2 day Spring Fest event. It costs 5.00 per person to get in. The same as above except a lot more of it. Way more vendors and music etc..

Directions: It's back a ways but easy to find. You take 60 to Mansfield, to N 5, the exit for Laura Ingles Museum. There should be a sign for Baker's Creek but you may not see it until you exit. Go north
on 5 for about 1.5 miles and there's a big Baker's Creek sign on the left, turn there. It turns into a gravel road, just keep going and follow the signs. You won't miss it.
