Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

6.8.08 morning

I just came in from feeding the cats and listening to the frogs :) it's still humid but feels a lot cooler then it did just an hour ago. There's a breeze and the wind chimes are just barely singing.

We went to the big store this early morning. Things are going up at an amazing rate. I've always been so very thankful for everything we have but the impact of it hits harder as the weeks go by.

I got everything on the list except for a small sketchbook for my Go-bag. I forgot to even look for one. next time maybe.

I have a lot to do today but likely won't get it all done. Besides the regular animal tending, the things I really need to get done are two paintings to finish, two tea orders to get out, do a mans laundry and bake a big chicken pot pie. Everything else can wait :)

Merry day jujus all around :)
