Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

It's very hot and humid today. Actually the humidity is what bothers me most, the heat alone would just feel hot but the humidity makes it feel oppressive and hard to breathe.

We got some more painting done today but not much else outside. This weekend I need to be sure and get some pumpkins and squash planted and get to work on the henhouse.

I spent the afternoon reorganizing my studio area. I moved the material to the chest at the end of my bed and used to two bins it was in for the candle and soap supplies under the table where I paint. I still have to reorganize the rest of everything, especially he juju side which is a terrible mess because I took some storage from there for the apothecary Hoosier.

I may do some of that tonight when Nik goes to Springfield. He's getting to go to a special event that we were able to talk his father into taking him to. Nik is very excited about being able to go :) It's a complicated and often frustrating situation but having had no father at all myself, I believe it's worth the hassle to try for Nik and someday he will thankful that he was able to spend some time with father.

Anyway, I know he'll have a great time :)
