Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

A very good day.

We got the back wall of the henhouse completed. Next will be the roof, floor and end wall in that order. That way we can go ahead and open the pen to it and they'll have it for more shelter while we finish the front wall with door and windows. Last, if we get to it at all this year, will be the side door. That's just a luxury so we'll get to it when we can. I don't think it will be to hard and we have plenty of scrap wood around. I am going to have to get another 4x4, the 4th one from the Llama house was used to raise my headboard up.

It's 4:44

We also got some more wood stacked. We probably have enough to get us thru the winter but it needs to be cut. We'll hopefully be getting some more to add to it anyway soon.

For breakfast we had cold cereal. For lunch, biscuits and pepper gravy, I have no idea what's for supper. Sleep would taste pretty good :)

We watched Cloverfield Sunday night, it was ..... unusual. It had great potential. It would have been improved had the camera guy been eaten right away. I'm sure he's a very nice person but had I been there with them I would have knocked him out and left him somewhere. I love sci-fi but this just wasn't my thing.

I've been watching "The New Adventures of Old Christine" It's so very funny, which in itself is very sad and of course means that I need therapy. But what can ya do.

Well, Merry evening everyone :)

I was wondering how you like the movie cause I didn't really care too much for it. I think you should move here to the homestead and you will have plenty of chicken pens, goat pens,etc... what ya think?????

Ohhh wonderful that you sold some of your artwork. God things come to those who wait. I love the picture of the red sun in your last post.

I was thrilled to know that you attend the same church that I do. I thought I saw you there the other day. I had searched a long time for a church that brought me comfort where no matter in which direction I looked I saw the Great Creator. Wishing you and Nik many blessings and much happiness.

I haven't seen that film but I heard that the camera work was quite jerky. In fact I heard someone say that they got nausea while watching it, lol. Consequently I haven't bothered renting it.

Sounds like the chicken house is coming along. Roger is stacking wood as I write this. I think we have enough for the winter now. As it's the only source of heat we have we get prepared as soon as possible. Always a sense of relief when it's all stacked and ready to go.
