Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

Yesterday was such an odd day. I would say it was "one of those days" but I don't think there's such a thing as the kind of day we had. At least I hope they're not very common.

It started out fine but soon turned into a strange parallel dimension where the people who are us can't do anything right. After getting dressed I got ready to start a fire, the day wasn't that cold but pretty chilly we wanted a fire. Just trying to get the kindling going filled the house with smoke. I've since found out it has to do with the pressure and how to deal with it in the future (Thank you Corky and Koka). But yesterday we were smoked. At least it was sweet smelling wood :) Cause everything in the house now smells like woodsmoke and the Burrow is so small. Anyway. I quickly closed ll the dampers and Nik opened windows and put the fan in one. Then we went out to do morning chores and stayed outside for about an hour.

And tho nothing quite as bad happened the rest of the day, it was filled with knocking our hands on things, running into things, bumping our heads on things, tripping over things, walking into things and ! the last thing I did while climbing into bed was kick myself and hurt my tow *o*

We saw something strange yesterday. The day before there was a jet leaving an odd chemtrail, today there was a dense, huge sheet of clouds which covered the entire sky right up to where that jet left the trail. At the trail the clouds just stopped. Smoothly, as if they had been cut with sharp scissors. Beyond the trail was beautiful blue sky.

Sunday we had a grand day ! We've begun delivering eggs to Springfield once or twice a month. It was fun to do, we met some very nice people and made a little money, enough to pay for gas and buy chicken food.

On the way into Springfield we saw a terrible crash on the highway and almost had one ourselves. The crash was on the opposite side but traffic suddenly stopped on our side, it went from 65 MPH to 0. I was driving about 50 but when the cars in front just stopped on the highway I hit the brakes and they locked up and we began to slide. Thank the Mother for a wide and clear shoulder! I quickly pulled there and was able to slow and stop. We soon discovered that the only reason traffic had stopped on our side is so people could look at the crash *~* While we waited in the line I made prayers for the people in the actual crash and that a semi wouldn't come up over the hill behind us expecting traffic to be actually driving on the highway.

We made to safely to Springfield, heart beating out of my chest most of the rest of the way there, and I was asked twice if I was The Egg Lady :)

When we got home that day we discovered someone had cut two wonderful stacks of our firewood for us !! It was he cabin guy !! Very very nice !!!

Also, this morning we found a wonderful gift in the yard, a big and most excellent plant pot !! :) :) :)

Todays menu is .... Biscuits and jam for breakfast. Ham N cheese sandwiches with lettuces and mustard for lunch. Roast chicken with carrots, potatoes, onions, rosemary and thyme for supper.

For the last few days I've been working one two new selling sites, setting up accounts and getting things listed.
Here http://www.bonanzle.com/booths/HealingHouse
and here http://www.buysellcommunity.com/HealingHouse

Dial up is so slow it takes days to get the listings up but I would rather have slow dial up and a happy life then super speed and a stressed life :)

I think the line of clouds you saw was a weather front moving in, Gypsy. They are so impressive when it's like that, blue sky edged with a line of clouds. I'm thankful that you did not also have an accident!
