It's been so long since I've posted. A busy but very good time. Paintings to paint and teas to blend. And preparing for the goat girls :) which I'll explain more about shortly.

Last Sunday i traded duck eggs for Ozark Beauty strawberries and they're doing wonderfully ! The guy in the plant area of our Super gave me two free cabbage plants :) which are also doing wonderfully. I've still got most of the seedlings inside and tho quite a few were lost when the bloody cat knocked them down, there are still plenty thriving. I just know longer know which ones are which !

Besides the strawberries and cabbages I've also planted two green beans, more sage, spearmint, banana and red chili peppers, and some romaine.

I submitted some artwork to SpiralMuse but have never heard back so I'm not sure.

The poor chickens haven't been out of their pen for days because the little hussies eat the leaves off of everything *~* I always have to keep them in this time of year, until the plants get big enough. As soon as the goat pen is finished they can go out in there each day.

I'm still seeing the numbers. I see them almost daily. Mainly 1's and 2's but last Saturday the 21st (Spring Equinox) I saw 3's. The weight of a package was 3.3 ounces, I went to the market and our total was 33.33 (several people commented on it) Then that night couldn't sleep and got up and played a game on the computer and my score was 333.

I guess the only other news is that Pearl broke my neti pot and a feral cat named Lulu brought her 3 new babies to our porch *~*

Oh ! and the goats :) I haven't had real milk in ages. I can't drink cows milk at all anymore and tho I love and appreciate soy milk, it would be pretty hard for me to come by in case of any SHTF event. That and the price of milk for Nik made me decide that we needed to get a milk goat. This was about 2 years ago. I had originally planned to get a lovely Dexter cow (which i would still like to have someday) but where we are now there is no room for any size cow and I could still probably not drink her milk.

So, for the last few years I've been learning as much as I can about goats and particularly Nubians since that's what i decided would be right for us after much research. I had made up my mind and decided I would definitely get a Nubian doe and a small wether as her companion this come fall. But some things happened recently and i posted about wanting a Nubian doe and a dear friend ((((((((((Sheri)))))))))) in Texas replied that she had two Nubian doelings for us :) :) :)

We've been working ever since to get everything just so for them :) We sold most of our hens, we have 11 left and the smaller henhouse is just right for them so the big henhouse has turned into the goat house and the fence is almost completely up. we have the gate, one door on the goat house, a goat cave and something for them to climb on left to do. It should be all complete and ready for them when we bring them home on the 15th :) We've named them Ruby and Matilda :) :) Tho that could change when they get here.

We're so excited and blessed !

Along with general goat things I've also been studying natural remedies and care for them.
Our goat girls will be nature girls, they even still have their horns.

And here's Nik with giant Firebolt :)

Firebolt is the sweetest, most loving and tolerant cat i've ever known.
He weighs 28 pounds and has 7 toes on each paw.

I promised not to go on to much about Nik so I'll just say ...
the world is truly blessed to have him in it.
