Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

Natural Treatment for Goat Mastitis

This worked for me on a 7 day cycle but, if you try it, please test often to be sure it's working for you.

Milk at least twice a day (more often if possible) and test daily to be sure it's working. Treat for 7 to 10 consecutive days.

Twice a day massage Tea Tree oil onto udder after milking. Massage well but gently.

For the first two days give the Echinacea and powdered Garlic at both the AM and PM feedings. Vitamin C at AM only. Then, for the next 5 to 8 days, follow as below.

AM Milking - One chewable Vitamin C each morning on feed

PM Milking - 4 Tablespoons of dried Echinacea herb and 1 Tablespoon dried powdered Garlic onto feed (1 Tablespoon Echinacea and 1/4 Tablespoon Garlic per day for every 50 pounds)

No need to withhold milk
