Just a quick post to let everyone know that we're alive :) Just very busy. We're in the cottage and have been for several days but still making trips back to Ozark for more loads. A 9 year old homestead accumulates a lot of stuff ! and oddly most of it is much heavier than it should be!
Nik finished hooking up my computer while I milked tonight. the luxury of milking inside is almost more than I could stand, almost :)
We still have no water but have been using our stored well and bottled water plus using a bucket to bring up flushing water from whatever the other things is. It's a bid concrete box in the ground with several feet of very clear water and a bit of flotsam junk, like a piece of wood i accidentally knocked in.
Last Monday the house guy tried to have the electric turned off but they called to double check. He told them we had already moved out *_* On Tuesday or Wednesday he left a message on my phone asking if we were moving ?
4 or 5 more trips should do it and we'll be done. Incredibly it seems we've been in the process of moving for almost 5 months and still so much to do.
Nik's birthday is next Sunday, a big meal, a homemade cake and our own home. Yes, we are blessed indeed.
Stay warm ((((((((( everyone )))))))))))

Awesome news that you two are doing okay. It's almost over!! Hugs, Tango
So glad for the update. Good news always when there is an end in sight for moving.
Blessings!
So glad things are going well! I can't wait to read updates on your new place - maybe with pictures?
Julie I am so very happy for you and Nik. You have all of the time in the world to get settled in to your new home. Savor every minute of it.
We used to have a big concrete box in the ground that collected water. It was called a cistern and collected the water from the down spouts on the house. It amounted to a big underground rain barrel of sorts.
Happy Birthday to Nik. Wishing him all the happiness he can stand at one time.
Hi Julie ~ Glad to hear you're getting settled in , I'm sure it's a bit overwhelming trying to get everything moved. I'm just so thankful you and Nik have a wonderful place to call "Home".
~ Be Blessed ~
Juli, so glad you are in your new home I know it has been a lot of hard work but it will be so nice for you both, we have about 4" of snow here an it is so pretty an the birds are everywhere can't hardly keep the feeders full. Take care an try to rest when you can. Nik sounds like a Sweetie.
