Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

New Gardens Seed Lists

I've been up late tonight, working on my garden plans  :)    Starting the gardens from scratch this year is both scary and exciting. Scary because I got so used to expecting so many things to be there every year and exciting to start anew in a bigger and much better place. I think the new garden spaces are almost as big as our whole property was at the old place.

I was dreading one thing tho, how to come up with seeds or plants with no money. Then I started looking at what seeds I have and got a most excellent surprise! A lot more saved last year than I thought, way more saved from 2009 that I'm quite sure are still very viable and! a bunch of seeds sent to me by friends last year in trades and as gifts. I had forgotten all about having most of them. I am so blessed to have so much, it was like Christmas to see how much more I had :)  Of some things there are only a few seeds but of most there are more than enough.

Hi Julie ~ I have a few of the things you're looking for and would be happy to send you a few seeds or sprouts. I have 2 types of garlic , spearmint and Lemon Balm (Melissa). I also have a few other seeds you may be interested in. Please e-mail me at joycea37 at gmail dot com. I'm sure it seems overwhelming , starting from scratch , but I'm sure you'll manage.

~ Be Blessed ~

Where is Kirin? Please give us an update, I am concerned that I haven't seen her for a while. I am just now catching up and so many things have happened to you. I may have just missed her.

Juli, I know your seeds are very precious and few but if you happen to have extra herb seeds I would love to purchase some. That would give you extra money to purchase seeds you don't have and would really help me out as I am making my herb garden lots bigger this year. thanks, Peggy (happe2b50@yahoo.com)
