Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

Pictures from the Cottage

The Cottage, just beginning  :)

.

Concord grapevines, a gift from a friend.
They're lovely but I'm hoping they root.
Grapes would be a excellent thing to add to our tiny orchard.

.
The beautiful stone fireplace with the new wood stove another friend made for us from scrap. It's a wonderful thing! The body is made from an old well pump and there are parts from a computer case and an old bed frame. I think it will keep us nice and warm next winter and he even added two places for cookpots and tea kettles   :)  :)  :)

.

My desk to the left with my desk chair  :)  The rocking chair Nik got me last uyear for Mothers Day.
And the little pass thru looking into the kitchen. Some Pussy Willow branches, a trade, that I'm hoping will root.

.

The kitchen

.

Another gift, Lemon Grass in a milk jug.
It smell so good, it's wonderful in tea of course but also delicious in rice.

.

The cottage table with some buckeye seeds I traded seeds for.
Also some apples who'se remians will go into the vinegar pot  :)

.

The Mother, a giant aloe that was another gift.
And the golden glass moon in the window, which was a gift from my beloved sister Becca many years ago.

.

A bowl of homemade cherry Rock Candy.
I also call it glass candy, very easy to make, I'll post the recipe later.

.

Violets, waiting to become jelly  :)
This bunch is from the first day and I got almost twice that today.
I believe the recipe calls for 2 cups and i think there's more than enough now.

Forsythia, watching over the Cottage.
