Wild Moon Cottage is a small working homestead in the pristine Ozark Mountains. We have dairy goats, poultry, organic herb and vegetable gardens, a start of a tiny fruit orchard, several black walnut trees, wild berries and fields of wildcrafting goodness. We raise our own milk, our own eggs, much of our own medicine and food. I do laundry by hand, make my own vinegar, candles, soap, bread, cheese ........ For a living I am an artist and herbalist. My goal for myself and our homestead is to be as self sufficient and self sustaining as possible.

9.15.08 Afternoon

I just popped some banana bread in the oven (made with the last 2 bananas from last week) and was reading the mail. Got something from a KindTree in Oregon, where two of my paintings are, and out fell a lovely check :) It's been a while since I had a decent art sale and after the financial thing last month we truly need it. How very, very cool :)

The painting that sold was 3 Olive Trees. I had sent 2 paintings for an art show promoting autism and aspergers awareness with a portion of the sale to going to the organization, KindTree.org . I'm not exactly sure when this one sold, at the show or after they went on to a gallery. I'm just so thankful one did sell. I've also given permission for cards to be sold from both paintings I sent and some have sold. As long as they sell we'll continue to get 50%, which should continue for Nik if anything should happen. It's not huge but it's something.

Now I'm off to check the bread :)

Lovely when you get an unexpected surprise ie: cheque. I like the painting, very nice. I like the golden feel about it.
