There have been time throughout my life when time ceases and every single thing is still, if only for a moment. That morning was one of those times.
I looked down into the forest from just outside our door and it seemed like I could see into forever. Like the frost had somehow frozen the mundane world allowing a glimpse of the next world over.
I can't quite explain what I saw, and sometimes see, and if I could explain it I'm sure some lovely nuthouse men would come to take me for a little ride.
Anyway, here are some pictures from that frozen day.
The frozen forest in the first light.

The chickens seemed to move in slow motion.

They gathered near the front of the house to plot chicken things.

The first hens are so fat and fluffy but I worry about their naked legs.
I wonder if they would wear chicken socks.

Frosted pinecones I bought from the neighbor girls a few years ago.

The frozen forest in brighter light.

A warm Nik.

You've had the experience of being one with the universe. I've been there myself and there's no way to explain it to anyone else. It has to be experienced.
Nik looks well suited up for the cold, lol. Your chickens look wonderful. Love the pictures.
Oh looky at all the chickens , they're so pretty on the frosty morning. Can't wait til I get my chickens , soon I hope.
I understand about the stillness of the moment and looking beyond , to another time and place , but it is hard to describe. I've had those moments myself.
Wishing You and Nik a very Merry Blessed Christmas.
